Best Safeties in the NFL

1a. Ed Reed

Neither is better than another because what they are asked to do in their scheme of the defense. Ed Reed is the best ball hawk in NFL history. He missed the first 6 games of the season last year and still led the NFL in Interceptions. Looks to score after int's even if hes trying to pitch the ball to another player. One of the most exciting players in the game period.

1b. Troy Polamalu

Neither is better than another because what they are asked to do in their scheme of the defense. He more in the box as a 5th LB. Great tackle. Best tackler in space i have ever seen. A ball hawk as well and makes plays all over the field. I think his coverage ability was exposed a lil in the super bowl.

3. Nick Collins

4. Michael Griffin

5. Oshiomogho "OJ" Atogwe

The Paul Pierce of The NFL before the KG-Ray Allen trade. You have to sit back and watch him every down to truly understand his impact of the Game because of how underrated of a player he is. He was unnoticed playing for the Rams early in his career and the most teams in the NFL was after him as a free agent last year and the Redskins ended with a steal.

6. Adrian Wilson

Injuries have slowed Wilson. For years have been the Cardinals best defensive player if not the best player period. For years was one of the most underrated players in the league until the Cardinals reached the super bowl.

7. Antrel Rolle

8a. Earl Thomas

The Ed Reed clone. a young beast who will only get better as time past. I expect him to be in the top 4 by next season

8b. Eric Berry

The Troy Polamalu Clone. Another young beast who started to dominate game towards the end of the season and will only get better. I also expect him to be in the top 4 after next season and a every year pro bowl player

10. Donte Whitner
